Weekend in London

Finally managed to get to the Tower bridge and it was an amazing day for it!
There were people everywhere, sun was shinning in London, the sky was blue (most of it ).

Did a few panoramas by just moving the camera and clicking away. Home I just combined them and here is the result:

This week was not productive - I feel like I'm still searching for a way to make things better, to improve and to find my way.

This week was lazy.

No matter how much you want to hold on to things they pass like weather and wind and seasons..

It was a very windy day, quite cloudy - had to hold the branches in place while pressing the shutter button.

Project 52 - week 18

2 weeks ago I had the opportunity to visit Hereford. Amazing place with beautiful architecture. Bellow you can see a few images of the best known building in the area: the Hereford Cathedral with its Victorian Gothic architecture.

Project 52 - week 17

I feel the need of a macro lens today - you can find so many fun beautiful things if you look close enough.

I took these photos into a small glass: just water and oil + editing program for the colors ( a gradient few layers with overlay blending mode and a few opacity changes)
Of course the images you see were cropped a lot as my lens don't allow me to get that close :).

Everything was set-up in the bathroom (the best lit room in my house :P )

Project 52 - week 16

I'm discovering different places in this small city because I seem to run out of photo subjects quite fast (and I'm not confident enough yet to ask people on the street to pose for me :P )

This photos were indeed taken last week (week 16) but took a while for me to actually post them.

I realized that I keep taking only my 35mm lens (which helped me learn to move around when I want a specific frame) but in the same time I end up in situations where a telephoto would be much better >_<.

Project 52 - week 13

Last Saturday have been on a day trip to Southampton - it was end of March but still very very cold.

I took a walk by River Test and got a few shots of the place. It was nice to see the seagulls and the sun slowly setting behind the clouds. Unfortunately didn't had my tripod so no sunset photos today :)

Project 52 - week 12

Street photography - my first real try. Used my D40 with a Nikkor 55 - 200 mm. I had to increase the ISO (400) to get the right shutter speed = fast (people don't wait for you to take a photo). I wanted things to be candid, unexpected. It was a cloudy day and actually started to rain. I got some strange looks but nobody really said anything so maybe next time I'll be more courageous to get closer and capture different expressions.

If anybody has some tips on how to do that I'd love to hear :)

Project 52 - week 11

Even if it's spring it seems that there is a place in Wales that needs to catch up with the weather :)
On my way to Aberystwyth I managed to get this image while going through a snow storm. It looked impressive. I thought that the vintage looking car would look better in b&w.

Trying a different concept.
Was down in the mud taking this picture.. I guess as a photographer you need to make some sacrifices - in this case my black jeans, that are now in the trash.

Project 52 - week 9

Very late post, I have been a bit disappointed with my photography performance and need more ideas for new photos.

These were taken last week but just got them on my computer and edited them today. Waiting for spring still .. and I thought .. it's almost Mothers Day.

Project 52 - week 8

This week was a bit of a disaster when it came to photography. I had another theme planed but no matter how much I have tried it wouldn't come out right because of lack of an external flash ... so I had to change my idea and go with something more predictable: fruit closeups.

I used my +4 close-up filter with my 50 mm lens. Had to do a bit of post processing for the colors in the four pictures to match ..oh and by the way the orange on the right is not even an orange (it's a pink grapefruit that had to become an orange :P )

Project 52 - week 7

This is something a bit more dreamy. I'm experimenting a lot and doing my best to practice different types of photography.
A lot of post processing for this one: playing with colors and levels and contrast..
